The Nevada Humane Society and Hill's Pet Nutrition are teaming up to help find forever homes for eligible large dogs by waiving adoption fees.
The “Home Sweet Homecoming” adoption campaign is happening from September 30 to October 4, according to a release from the Humane Society.
As part of the campaign, adoption fees will be waived for dogs 6 months and older who weigh 60 pounds or more at both the Reno and Carson City Humane Society locations.
"Large dogs can take longer to find homes than smaller dogs, and we’re excited to give these deserving pets an extra opportunity to find their match," said the Humane Society in a statement.
Since 2002, the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program has helped more than 16 million cats and dogs find new homes and has provided more than $300 million in pet nutrition to feed pets across its partner shelters, including the dogs and cats at Nevada Humane Society.
