Nevada State Police have identified a woman who was struck and killed while walking on Interstate 80.
On March 8, just before 7:30 a.m. troopers responded to a report of a crash near mile marker 12 in Winnemucca, just west of the U.S. 95 Interchange.
According to investigators, 29-year-old Misty April Danese Jackson of Rienzi, Mississippi, was walking against traffic in the number 2 lane when a semi-truck hit her. The right front of the red Kenworth commerical truck struck Jackson, and she came to rest on the outside dirt shoulder, where she died from her injuries.
It was later determined that the crash happened late the night before. The trucking company that owns the truck is cooperating with the investigation. No information has been released about the driver.
