Nevada State Police issued a reminder on its Facebook this week cautioning residents about the risks and penalties associated with illegal fireworks.

In the post titled “Illegal Fireworks,” NSP emphasized that fireworks not approved for legal use can result in significant fines and other repercussions.

“As a friendly reminder, possessing and using illegal fireworks in Nevada can result in significant fines and other repercussions,” the post reads. “Be mindful of others, illegal fireworks can ignite wildfires and cause property damage. Also, loud noises can cause distress to neighbors, veterans and pets.”

Nevada State Police encouraged the public to celebrate responsibly by sticking to approved-legal fireworks in designated areas and during permitted time frames.

They also suggested public firework displays as a safer alternative.

The message comes as fire danger and community concerns rise during the holiday weekend, with law enforcement urging awareness and compliance to help prevent avoidable incidents.
