The Nevada Women’s Fund is set to recognize 75 women from northern and rural Nevada on Wednesday during its annual Salute to Women of Achievement Luncheon, an event that highlights leadership, resilience, and dedication across the region.

Recognized as one of the area’s largest business luncheons, the annual event supports the organization’s mission of empowering women through education and career advancement. Nearly 1,400 people are expected to attend the luncheon.

“Salute to Women of Achievement celebrates the remarkable women whose contributions create a ripple effect throughout northern and rural Nevada,” said Ila Friedenthal, Nevada Women’s Fund President & CEO. “This event is about recognizing leaders, mentors, innovators, and changemakers while also supporting Nevada Women’s Fund’s mission of empowering women through education and career advancement.”

Featured speakers include Rebecca Calder, Ph.D., CDR, USN (ret.). The luncheon will also include the induction of Felicia O’Carroll into the Nevada Women’s Fund Hall of Fame.

2 News Nevada anchor Kristen Remington will serve as master of ceremonies for the event. The station’s Executive Producer, Amy Serrano, is also among this year’s honorees, being recognized during the luncheon.

In an online post, Nevada Women’s Fund said Serrano is being recognized for her work in the newsroom and her impact on the community.

In announcing Serrano’s nomination, 2 News Nevada said she is “One of the hardest working and most dedicated people in the 2 News Nevada newsroom; Amy is always pushing the news team to work harder, dig deeper and provide the best coverage on all platforms.”

Since 1982, Nevada Women’s Fund has awarded more than $11 million in scholarships and grants to women and organizations throughout northern and rural Nevada, helping remove barriers to education and economic opportunity.
