A new license plate reader has been installed in Churchill County near Walmart.
The Churchill County Sheriff's Office says the camera takes pictures of license plates and checks them against databases of vehicles associated with criminal activity.
Officials say it does not track people or their information and is similar to what officers can see from a patrol car.
