The Truckee River Flood Management Authority will hold a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday for the new Wadsworth Pedestrian Bridge.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2:15 to 2:24 p.m.
The new bridge sits higher than the previous structure, allowing more water to flow underneath during high river flows. The added capacity helps reduce water backing up at the bridge and lowers the risk of flooding in the nearby Wadsworth community.
The project also helps mitigate downstream impacts associated with the Truckee Meadows Flood Project while improving pedestrian access.
The ceremony will include remarks from TRFMA board members, staff and members of the engineering and construction teams, followed by a ribbon cutting. Refreshments will be provided.
