Authorities have released the name of the passenger who died after a crash on I-80 east near University Way late last month.

Nevada Highway Patrol says 79-year-old Carolyn Newton of Sparks died four days after the crash.

NHP says she was in a Mustang when it struck a raised curb and hit the right side of a semi-truck trailer and went across three lanes, hitting a guardrail.

Lanes and an on-ramp on I-80 eastbound have reopened after being significantly affected for a few hours by a two-vehicle crash between Center and Virginia Streets on Tuesday morning.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division reported the crash involved a Mustang and a semi-truck.

Two people from the Mustang were transported to the hospital, including one with life-threatening injuries. No injuries were reported from the semi-truck.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.

NHP says all lanes and on-ramps have reopened on I-80 after eastbound traffic was reduced to a single lane at Virginia Street, and the I-80 eastbound on-ramp from University was closed as crews investigated and cleared the crash.

This is a developing story; updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
