North Lyon Fire crews stopped a fire near Marie Drive and Laine Way in Fernley on Saturday.
Crews received the first report just before 11 a.m. and stopped forward progress about 15 minutes later.
Due to massive burning logs and the amount of heavy vegetation in the area, extensive mop-up was required to break apart burning materials and allow water to reach deep-seated hot spots.
The fire is now fully contained. No structures were threatened, and no one was injured. Crews are investigating the cause.
