Reno Fire Department closed South McCarran Boulevard near Neil Road for about two hours Saturday after an underground power box exploded.
The small explosion just after 7 p.m. led to a power outage in the area, and NV Energy is now investigating. At one point more than a thousand customers were without power.
There were no injuries and Reno Fire Department says there is no threat to the public.
South McCarran Boulevard has reopened to traffic.
