Firefighters and the Storey County Sheriff's Office responded to a house fire on Monday night in the Gold Hill area.
Deputies got the call on the fire around 7:40 p.m., according to a post on the SCSO Facebook page.
Before deputies and firefighters arrived, an off-duty Sheriff's Office deputy on his way home saw visible fire coming from underneath the house.
The off-duty deputy quickly began helping people out of the house.
Everyone was removed from the home, and firefighters quickly got the fire under control and extinguished the flames.
One adult was taken to the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
