A head-on crash involving two cars on U.S. 395 south of North Constantia left one person dead and five others hospitalized Tuesday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. and involved six people between the two cars. One person was declared dead, while the other five were transported to hospitals with unknown injuries.
The crash prompted traffic delays and a small detour around the scene as emergency crews responded. Drivers were urged to use caution in the area.
As of 9:40 a.m., US 395 had reopened to traffic.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
