A crash involving a juvenile on an illegal electric motorcycle and a bicyclist in south Reno on Sunday morning sent one person to the hospital.
Two juveniles were allegedly riding illegal e-bikes on the sidewalk when one of them hit the bicyclist, according to a spokesperson from the Reno Police Department.
The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The illegal motorcycles did not have proper equipment to operate on the road, police said, including safety lights, license plates, or pedals, and neither of the juveniles had licenses.
The juvenile driving the electric motorcycle that hit the bicyclist was cited for the violations, while the one who wasn't involved in the crash was let off with a warning.
Reno Police remind people that operating an electric motorcycle is illegal unless you have the proper equipment on the bike and a valid motorcycle license.
