The Nevada Department of Transportation has completed construction on a project to repave and reconstruct Pyramid Way in Sparks from Victorian Avenue to York Way.
The project was originally scheduled to complete in early 2027 but was finished five months ahead of schedule after starting in February.
Between two and 18 inches of roadbed was removed and resurfaced along Pyramid to provide a restored and smoother driving surface. Crews placed 11,000 tons of new paving.
NDOT says drivers should notice the following changes:
- Resurfacing on both directions of Pyramid Way between Nugget Avenue and York Way.
- Over one mile of roadside sidewalk reconstructed for enhanced pedestrian safety and mobility.
- Roadside curbs and driveway and sidewalk ramps improved.
- New pedestrian-activated crossings signals installed at the intersections of D Street, F Street, L Street and Holman Way.
- Enhanced roadside lighting.
As many as 28,000 drivers use the road daily.
