The Reno Fire Department says it is planning to bring back the Home Wildfire Fuels Reduction Dumpster Program this year.

That’s a program where Reno residents can dispose of vegetation like leaves and branches around their homes. Firefighters say this creates defensible space and makes it easier for them to protect against fires.

Reno Fire, in an online post, says community members can access a free fuel reduction dumpster at Fire Station 11 after the program starts on April 24.

The Reno Fire Department says they want to hear from neighbors before choosing other locations. You can suggest locations for the other dumpsters through this survey. The form is currently live and closes on April 1.
