A 37-year-old Reno man has been arrested in connection with a series of residential burglaries reported between August and October.
Michael Reeves was arrested October 13 by detectives with the Regional Crime Suppression Unit, a team made up of detectives from the Reno and Sparks police departments.
Reno police officers began responding to multiple residential burglaries in early August. The burglaries occurred during overnight hours, with jewelry, cash, wallets and other valuables reported stolen.
Investigators believe several victims may have been targeted based on their gender or age.
In multiple incidents, homeowners encountered the suspect inside or near their residences. Police said the suspect ran away during some encounters but in others, used a weapon to assault victims.
The Regional Crime Suppression Unit took over the investigation in late September. Detectives later identified Reeves as a person of interest.
Reves was arrested and booked on the following charges:
- Armed Robbery
- Attempted Robbery
- Grand Larceny
- Grand Theft Auto
- Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards
- Possession of a Firearm by Prohibited Person
- Four counts of Home Invasion
- Five counts of Burglary
- Four counts of Petit Larceny with an Elderly Enhancement
The investigation is ongoing as detectives look into additional burglaries that occurred during the same time period.
