A Reno man faces drug-related charges after deputies say a K9 sniffed out 15.6 grams of meth inside the man's car in Storey County on Monday night.

Deputies say the car had no license plates, so they conducted a traffic stop on SR 341 just after 6:30 p.m.

During the stop, they say the man, 39-year-old Ryan Rogers also had no valid driver's license, car registration or proof of insurance.

While the deputy was writing a citation, another deputy and his K9, Chino arrived and smelled the alleged drugs.

A subsequent search yielded the alleged meth and paraphernalia inside the car.

Rogers was issued a citation for the traffic violations.

He was taken into custody and booked into the Storey County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Possess schedule I or II controlled substance, more than 14g but less than 28g

  • Posses or use drug paraphernalia
