A man wanted for kidnapping in California was arrested after a traffic stop in south Reno on Tuesday night. 

Washoe County deputies say they conducted the traffic stop near South Virginia Street and Towne Drive around 7:15 p.m. 

Deputies say during the stop they learned that the driver 19-year-old Juan Acosta had an active felony fugitive warrant issued out of Monterey County for charges of Kidnapping and False Imprisonment by Violence.

Acosta was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he awaits extradition proceedings to Monterey County.
