The first baby born in the Reno-Sparks area in 2025 came just in time to celebrate the New Year.
The community's newest Northern Nevadan birthed by his mother Guadalupe Ibarra, is Ermias Rojas, who was born at 6:14 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, at Renown Regional Medical Center and welcomed into the world by his father, Sergio Rojas.
He weighs 8 pounds, 2.7 ounces, and was the first 2025 birth at any of the region's hospitals.Â
