Families and community members can gather Saturday for a free block party hosted by The Salvation Army in Carson City, with food, entertainment and activities planned for all ages.
The free public event will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 911 E. Second St. Activities will include burgers, snow cones, music, face painting, backyard games, a bounce house and a foam cannon.
The gathering is intended to give families, neighbors and other community members a chance to spend the afternoon together while learning more about programs and services offered by The Salvation Army.
"We're excited to open our doors and create an opportunity for families to come together, have fun and build community," said Captain Ernie Evans, Carson City corps officer. "This event is a chance to celebrate our neighbors and strengthen the connections that help make our community thrive."
The Salvation Army said community members can stop by throughout the event to enjoy the activities and refreshments.
