Three children were safely rescued after spending the night stranded outside of Fallon, according to Churchill County Search & Rescue.
According to a post on Facebook, Search & Rescue volunteers joined the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office early Sunday morning to search for the children, who had been missing since the previous night about 10 miles northwest of Fallon.
With limited information about their location, crews deployed ground searchers, K9 teams, ATVs, vehicles and aerial support.
Local pilot Paul Picotte assisted with the aerial search, helping teams locate the children. All three children were rescued and safely reunited with their family.
The agency thanked the Sheriff’s Office, including Sgt. Mike Davis and Sgt. Jason Fenner, along with the Search & Rescue volunteers who helped bring the children home safely.
The details of how the children became stranded has not been released, we will update this story when we learn more.
