A volunteer-run book sale is returning to Reno Town Mall later this month, bringing thousands of items and nine days of browsing for readers and collectors.

In an online post, The Friends of Washoe County Library, an all-volunteer organization, says it is holding its second book sale of 2026. The nine-day sale begins Saturday, May 30, and runs through Sunday, June 7, with shopping available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Members will get early access during a special shopping night on Friday, May 29, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. People can join at the door.

The event will be held at Reno Town Mall, located at South Virginia and Peckham, across from the Atlantis. Volunteers are also highlighting “volunteer picks” displayed in the front of the store.

Organizers say thousands of books will be available, priced at 50 cents and $1, including mysteries, romance, foreign language titles, history, gardening, auto repair manuals, children’s books, cookbooks, and other fiction and nonfiction categories.

The sale will also include CDs, DVDs, jigsaw puzzles, and a section of individually priced books, including some that are 100 years old.

A note from organizers emphasizes, “This is it....the countdown is on. Ten days until the next Friends of Washoe County Library Sale.”

The sale details list credit cards, cash, and checks as accepted payment. Donations will be accepted at the front door.
