Truckee Meadows Community College

U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto announced $1,760,000 in funding for Truckee Meadows Community College to support an advanced manufacturing training program.

This grant is from the U.S. Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education.

According to Senator Cortez Masto's Office, "The grant will fund a new Operational Skills Certificate, a Workforce Pell-aligned short-term program designed to prepare students for roles in advanced manufacturing, automation, and battery production."

The office says these types of workforces are becoming crucial for American economic competitiveness, supply chains, and clean energy.

“To be competitive in the 21st Century, the United States needs to prepare young people to work in critical sectors like advanced manufacturing and battery production,” said Senator Cortez Masto. “With this new short-term certification program, TMCC will be at the forefront of training America’s next generation of innovators and problem solvers.”

According to Senator Cortez Masto's Office, Senator Cortez Masto continues to work to ensure Nevada’s students can attain a higher education that meets their needs.
