A total of sixteen businesses were checked and seven of those businesses served or sold alcohol to underage people in a recent compliance check.
The Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department and Washoe County School District Police Department teamed together with Join Together Northern Nevada to perform the checks.
During the operation, 18-20-year old volunteers were used to check the businesses.
In each instance, the volunteer provided their actual state-issued identification if they were asked for it, clearly identifying them as underage patrons.
Businesses that passed and did not serve or sell alcohol to the volunteer:
- Valley Market - 505 Denslowe Dr.
- El Guicho Smoke & Liquor - 1759 Silverada Dr.
- Nahar Food & Discount Liquor
- Sunny Discount Liquor - 2900 Clear Acre Ln.
- Nemo's Market - 445 Wright Way, Sparks
- Alibi Lounge - 125 Casazza Dr.
- Coach's Grill & Sports Bar - 1573 S. Virginia St.
- Little Waldorf Saloon - 1661 N. Virginia St.
- Walgreens - 2290 Oddie Blvd, Sparks
Businesses that failed and either served or sold alcohol to the volunteer:
- Lucky Liquor – 275 S. Wells Ave.
- Playfield 76 Bar – 150 N. Arlington St.
- Our Bar – 211 W. 1st St.
- Ole Bridge Pub – 50 N. Sierra St.
- Shea’s Tavern – 715 S. Virginia St.
- Z Bar – 1074 S. Virginia St.
- Filthy McNasty’s – 1718 Holcomb Ave.
