The Sparks Police are releasing details of a recent retail theft operation carried out in partnership with Walmart and Kohl's.
In the controlled operation, the SPD Neighborhood Police Unit officers arrested three people and gave tickets to two others.
Charges given to those arrested included petit larceny, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and one arrest was made on an outstanding warrant.
Officials say around $1,250 of stolen merchandise was recovered during the operation.
The Sparks Police Department says that they are committed to combating retail theft and will continue to work with local businesses.
