The Sparks Police Department is working together with other Nevada law enforcement agencies in January to combat speeding.

A Joining Forces campaign is happening through January 31, according to a press release from the SPD.

Speeding provides greater potential to lose control of your car, increases stopping distance, and increases the severity of crashes, according to the release.

From 2017 to 2021, there were 491 speeding-related deaths in Nevada.
