Governor Joe Lombardo has announced that state offices in Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, and Washoe Counties will be closed due to severe weather.

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) report that snow, freezing temperatures, and wind are expected to continue throughout Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

The Storey County Clerk’s Office Vehicle Registration Window (DMV) is closed on Feb. 17, 2026. All other County offices are currently open.

While essential public safety and corrections personnel will continue their vital work, all other state government offices in these counties will remain closed until conditions improve.

Recent winter storms have severely impacted regional transportation, making travel hazardous. Governor Lombardo urges all Nevadans to continue following local guidance from NDOT and DPS. Furthermore, Governor Lombardo asks all Nevadans to drive cautiously and exercise sound judgment when navigating roadways.
