Lithium Americas is making sure construction can continue at the Thacker Pass lithium mine after an investigation into its water usage.
The state of Nevada says it discovered crews were using a well in the area without a permit after a lawsuit from a nearby rancher.
Lithium Americas said it was told its water usage would not conflict with others in the area.
The company has been asked to stop pumping water until the issue is resolved.
