The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating after deputies and troopers chased a stolen vehicle from Storey County into Churchill County Saturday morning.
NHP says it received an attempt-to-locate alert just before 6 a.m. for a car that was originally reported stolen in Reno.
Just after 10:15 a.m., the Storey County Sheriff’s Office spotted the vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 80. When deputies attempted to stop the car, the driver sped off.
NHP took over the pursuit as the vehicle continued eastbound toward Fallon on U.S. 95.
The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office joined the chase and deployed a tire-deflation device near mile marker 32, bringing the vehicle to a stop.
Two people were taken into custody.
The male driver was booked into the Churchill County Detention Center on charges including felony eluding, child endangerment and possession of a stolen vehicle.
A male juvenile passenger was also taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit and booked into the Churchill County Juvenile Probation Office.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed.
