Two people are dead, and a third is in the hospital after a possible DUI crash as the suspect fled from Douglas County Sheriff's Deputies.
It started Saturday at 4:05 p.m. when deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call in the Ranchos area of Gardnerville.
Deputies saw a vehicle speeding near Tillman Lane and Kimmerling Road, and they attempted a traffic stop.
Investigators say the person continued to speed away and tried to pass another vehicle when he crossed into oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a motorcycle at the intersection of Kimmerling Rd and Country Lane.
A man and woman on the motorcycle were both killed. They are identified as Donald Johnson, 60, and Shelly Johnson, 50, both of Gardnerville, Nevada
The other vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. He was taken to Renown Medical Center with severe injuries.
He is identified as Gerardo Adame-Lopez, 30, of Reno, Nevada
Preliminary charges being considered include:
- DUI causing death – two counts
- Eluding causing death – two counts
- Reckless driving causing death – two counts
The investigation is being conducted by Carson City Sheriff's Office, Nevada State Police, and Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
These charges are preliminary and subject to change as the investigation continues and the evidence is reviewed.

Kimmerling Road is closed east and west of Country Lane until further notice.
