Nevada State Police have identified two people killed in a crash on State Route 208 near Topaz Ranch Drive in Douglas County.

The crash happened July 3rd just after 6 a.m.

The preliminary investigation indicates a gray Audi A5 sedan was traveling eastbound in the westbound travel lane, in a no passing zone, attempting to pass multiple vehicles.

A white Ford F-350 pickup was traveling westbound on SR208.

The driver of the pickup steered right, entering the northside shoulder, attempting to avoid colliding with the sedan. The front of the sedan struck the left front of the pickup.  The sedan then caught on fire.

The driver of the sedan, 19-year-old Kohlbe David-Gregory Deines of Gardnerville, Nevada and his passenger, 20-year-old Brayden Thomas Kramer were pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the pickup was transported by air to a local area hospital with substantial life-threatening injuries.

Nevada Highway Patrol says a third person was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.

There's no immediate word on what caused the crash, or when the roadway will reopen to cars. 

NHP says traffic is being currently rerouted through Topaz Ranch Drive Estates. 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is assisting.
