The C-Hill Foundation, in partnership with Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space, and the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteers for a community restoration project for the American Flag on C-Hill in Carson City.
For 20 years, the flag has stood on Carson City. The current flag has been a symbol of pride, patriotism, and unity, overlooking Carson City and inspiring residents and visitors alike.
Now, the current flag is in need of renewal due to years of weather exposure.
A Flag Retirement Ceremony will take place Saturday, October 4, at 10 a.m., located at 1499 McKay Drive, Carson City.
Volunteers after arriving to the ceremony will walk up C-Hill on foot and by vehicle to take down the existing flag.
The foundation is asking for volunteers, donations, and supplies to help make the project run smoothly. Community members interested in participating are asked to sign up in advance to receive instructions and additional information.
