At a meeting on Thursday night, the Washoe County School District Zoning Advisory Committee voted to approve zoning changes for some schools.
The schools affected include Roger Corbett Elementary School, Smithridge Elementary School, E. Otis Vaughn Middle School, Earl Wooster High School, and Damonte Ranch High School.
What exactly those zoning changes could look like will be discussed at an upcoming meeting on February 19.
Three potential zoning options were discussed at the meeting, with a focus on how each could impact future growth, high school enrollment patterns, and transportation.
Whatever zoning changes are chosen will take effect in the 2027-2028 school year.
