The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is warning - again - about increased illegal target shooting near Golden Eagle Regional Park in Spanish Springs. 

In a Facebook post, they remind you, "Nevada law strictly prohibits discharging shotguns, air rifles, BB guns or similar weapons within 1,000 feet of any dwelling, and 5,000 feet for pistols, rifles or other firearms. Additionally, these actions cannot occur within any congested areas, roads, trails or federal and state highways."

If you see anyone shooting in unauthorized areas - or see unsafe gunfire near the park, trails or neighborhoods - report it immediately through the Sheriff’s Offices’ non-emergency dispatch, or online reporting system. (775-785-9276)
