The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office will celebrate Undersheriff Phil Jones’ retirement tomorrow at a special ceremony.
Jones, who joined the Sheriff’s Office in 1994, has had a long career, serving in various roles across the Administration, Detention, and Operations bureaus.
His assignments included positions as SWAT Commander, K9 Supervisor, Search and Rescue, Special Operations, and Patrol.
He also served as Captain of the Special Operations Division before being named Chief Deputy in 2022, and was appointed Undersheriff in 2023.
Throughout his tenure, Jones earned three Medals of Valor, two Bronze Stars, and several other accolades for his dedicated service.
The Sheriff's Office will celebrate him in a retirement ceremony that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, July 2, at the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office located at 911 Parr Blvd. in Reno.
