About 40 women took part in the 'Women in Powder' clinic today at Northstar California Resort.
It is a clinic meant for women to gain more confidence on the slopes.
The event ran from 9:00 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon, and there was plenty to do.
"These are sort of abbreviated versions of our women's weekend that happened earlier this year. So they are one day events and, in the morning, they are doing a four-hour mini clinic so you can kind of choose your own adventure with our instructors and meet some ladies to ski with or ride with," said Kelsey Wasilewski, Field Marketing Manager for Northstar California Resort.
Women involved in the clinic were broken up into groups based on skill level and instructors took them all over the resort to work on different skills, do group rides, and even celebrate a bit in the village afterwards.
Northstar says they put in a lot of attention on each attendee, so they can get the most out of the experience.
"It's really nice that the beginner and intermediate girls are able to focus more on their skills. We all know that it is really hard to learn about something but once they gain that confidence and once they gain a little bit more attention, they really get down to those nitty gritty details of what makes them better," said Jillian Doubek, Assistant Manager of Life Experience, Northstar California Resort.
Northstar says these events are pretty popular and they plan to have more in the future, as well as biking events in the summer.Â
