The Regional Transportation Commission will begin construction on the Virginia Line Bus Rapid Transit improvement project May 31.
Work will take begin on South Virginia Street between Moana and Hubbard Way starting at 7 p.m. Sunday.
The project will add bus-only lanes on South Virginia Street from Peckham Lane to Plumb Lane.
"The Virginia Line BRT improvements are important for people who already use transit, and the community. Dedicated bus lanes, ADA-compliant infrastructure and enhanced stations make transit safer and more reliable," said Kimberly Diegle, project manager for the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County. "We're excited to get to work."
