A man was arrested and faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of duty to stop at the scene of an accident, reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Weed Heights Road in Yerington.
Deputies say a man had recorded evidence of a white pickup truck with no plates trying to run him off the road as he walked home.
The driver then allegedly threatened the man, removed a metal pipe from his car and went after him.
The man hid in a bush while the driver attempted to find him.
Deputies identified the driver as Jonathan Triplett.
A witness confirmed the details and said he had personal knowledge that Triplett was allegedly heavily intoxicated during the event.
Shortly after responding to that call, deputies received another call from a woman who was ran off the road and crashed her car into a ditch.
Deputies say the description of the car matched Triplett's from the man's video.
On July 19, around 8:30 p.m., deputies followed up with Triplett at his home.
Triplett allegedly admitted to confronting someone he thought may have been on his property, but was unable to give a date, time, description or proof.
He also allegedly admitted to seeing someone crash their car after he intentionally brake checked them.
Triplett was taken into custody and his bail is set at $77,145.
