UPDATE - July 6, 2025:

An update to a previously reported story from Washoe County follows new developments from Washoe County court records.

Martin Talmadge Amba, III., has been sentenced to a maximum of 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony charges in the Second Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada.

According to court documents, Amba was convicted of attempted sexual assault against a child under 14 and child abuse or neglect.

Amba received a sentence of 8 to 20 years in prison for Count I and 2 to 5 years for Count II. The sentences will run consecutively, with an aggregate term of 10 to 25 years. The court granted 187 days of credit for time served.

In addition to prison time, Amba was ordered to serve lifetime supervision following any incarceration or parole, and he must register as a sex offender within 48 hours of release.

He was also ordered to pay administrative fees related to DNA testing and assessments.

A 29-year-old man is facing several child sex-related charges after being arrested on Tuesday.

Martin Talmadge Amba was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility on multiple felony charges, including sexual assault against a child under 14, two counts of statutory sexual seduction by a person 21+ or older, luring or attempting to lure a child with the use of computer technology to engage in sexual content and use or permit minor 14+ or older to produce pornography.
