Around 7 p.m. on August 30, Sparks Police, Sparks Fire Department, and REMSA were called to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
When they got to the intersection of Poco Rey Drive and Wingfield Springs Road in Sparks, first responders found that the motorcycle rider died on the scene. That person's name is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
The driver of the vehicle was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
The investigation shows that the motorcyclist was heading east on Wingfield Springs Road and was driving fast.
The motorcyclist then hit a vehicle that was trying to make a left turn from Poco Rey Drive onto Wingfield Springs Road.
Sparks Police say that speed seems to be a factor and they do not know if alcohol or narcotics were involved.
