California is bracing for fire weather, with thousands potentially losing power as utilities aim to prevent wildfires during hot and windy conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of Northern and Central California starting Thursday. Pacific Gas and Electric Company has notified 70,000 customers about possible power shutoffs beginning Wednesday night. Southern California will also experience gusty conditions as Santa Ana winds strengthen. Los Angeles officials are preparing for the weather by pre-deploying personnel and equipment. Authorities are urging residents to stay informed and have a plan in place.
