No longer a secret, Nathan Fielder's Elizabeth Holmes doc 'You Can See Everything' lands in New York
No longer a secret, “You Can See Everything,” Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary, has premiered at the New York Film Festival. The film screened Wednesday is a strange, hard-to-believe coda to the preposterous saga of the founder of medical testing company Theranos. Since first debuting in a surprise, no-phones screening at the Telluride Film Festival on Sept. 6, “You Can See Everything” has become one of the year’s most buzzed-about films. Shot secretly over three years, the nearly three-hour documentary captures Holmes in the 34 days before reporting to prison.
Paramount's “Street Fighter” leads the box office this weekend, earning $31 million from 3,575 theaters in the U.S. and Canada. However, the spotlight is on the Elizabeth Holmes documentary “You Can See Everything,” which made an impressive $15 million from just 855 screens. Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the film has received rave reviews and a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, the survival thriller “Whalefall” underperformed, earning $8 million domestically. The weekend's overall ticket sales reached about $101.6 million, marking a 45% increase from last year.
