Former Israeli military chief Gadi Eisenkot has a viable chance of ousting longtime Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. With the results of Israel's Tuesday election trickling in, Eisenkot's party appears to be trailing Netanyahu in seats. But that could change if Eisenkot is open to being in a coalition with Arab parties, though pulling that off may prove difficult. Eisenkot quit Netanyahu’s Gaza war Cabinet after they disagreed about strategy. He is the head of the centrist party Yashar, which means “straight” in Hebrew. His platform includes strengthening national security, uniting the country and investing in public education.
