Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Taliban governments have resumed talks in China, which is mediating between the two sides to broker a durable ceasefire after weeks of fighting. Representatives from both side are meeting in Urumqi, in northern China, officials told The Associated Press on Wednesday, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media. China has not commented. The talks, seen as a potential relief for millions of people in Pakistan and Afghanistan, began in Urumqi, the sources said. The two sides will continue the talks on Thursday, sources said.
