Asian shares are mostly higher and U.S. futures have edged up after shares rose to near a record close on Wall Street. Markets in mainland China were closed for a holiday. Oil prices fell as the situation in the Middle East remained uncertain. Surging oil prices and bond yields are adding to challenges for global markets, but expectations for strong company earnings have been supporting recent rallies ahead of the next earnings season. On Monday, Wall Street’s benchmark S&P 500 added 0.7% to near its own record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.2%, while the Nasdaq composite rose 1.1% to an all-time closing high.
