Asian stocks are mixed on Wednesday, following a sell-off in big technology stocks from Asia to Wall Street. U.S. stock futures are also trading mixed. Global investors are monitoring market movements in Japan and South Korea, which have seen big gains in recent months on the global AI boom but both fell sharply on Tuesday. South Korea's benchmark Kospi index was up 0.5% on Wednesday, while Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 1.1%. On Wall Street, the benchmark S&P 500 fell 1.4% Tuesday. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite dropped 2.2%, while the Dow was 0.1% lower. Oil prices fell as more ships crossed the Strait of Hormuz and as U.S.-Iran talks on a permanent end to the Iran war progressed.

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for strong winds and low humidity, which is in effect from
Friday morning through Saturday evening.
* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 420 Northern Sierra Front
including Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Southern Washoe,
Western Lyon, and Far Southern Lassen Counties.
* Winds...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Humidity...Afternoon minimums 12 to 20 percent.
* Duration... 2 to 4 hours Friday with 3 to 8 hours Saturday.
While humidity will recover Friday night, winds will stay breezy
on midslopes and ridges.
* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can
cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first
responders can contain them, especially from any recent
lightning holdovers.
