Spirit Airlines

FILE - A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320 prepares to take off from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Jan. 19, 2021, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Spirit Airlines is going out of business after 34 years and the company has ceased all operations as of May 2nd, 2026.

On the website the airline said that all flights have been canceled, and customer service is no longer available.

Spirit said in a statement it was working to get more than 1,300 crew to their home bases and that the final Spirit flight landed at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

The company advised customers that they could expect refunds but there would be no help in booking travel on other airlines.

Frontier Airlines announced it will offer discounted rates up to 50% off base fares across its network through November 19 to support impacted Spirit Airlines customers.

Customers can book by May 10 at FlyFrontier.com or on the Frontier mobile app using promo code SAVENOW. Certain blackout dates apply.

It's also offering a $199 GoWild All-You-Can-Fly Summer Pass to help affected Spirit customers access low fares. More information about the pass can be found on Frontier's website.
