Residents and hotel guests were allowed back into nearby buildings Wednesday. Workers meanwhile fashioned temporary fixes to shore up a massive development at the site of the former headquarters of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer. Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed there have been no additional movement in the building since it was deemed stable late Tuesday night. But four area buildings remain under full evacuation orders and some streets remained closed. Mamdani said the city will conduct a broader inquiry into what went wrong and what can be done to going forward.
