A man was arrested in Elko after allegedly stealing explosives from a mine site.

According to the Elko Police Department, a family member told police that 33-year-old Julian Ricker had stolen some explosives from a mine site he was working at.

His employer was the company Small Mine Development.

The Elko Bomb Squad went to his home and say they found explosives commonly used in mining. 

Ricker was not home during the search but was later found by police and arrested.

He faces charges including possession of explosives and his bail is set at $115,000.

Small Mine Development and Nevada Gold Mines were both contacted and police say they are cooperating with the investigation.

They are also taking steps to ensure that no other thefts occur.
