Fentanyl pills with Elko PD logo, police lights

The Elko Police Department (EPD) recently released information about arrests made on Thursday in a drug investigation.

According to officials, two search warrants were served on the south side of Elko by the Nevada Division of Investigation (NDI), EPD, and the Elko County Sheriff's Department.

The NDI has spent months investigating a fentanyl trafficking ring, and based on the investigation, teams were able to arrest Heather Carrasco, Mindy Bliss and Richard Bliss.

This comes after the arrest last month of Bradley Nye, during which officials found over $30,000 in drug profits.

The investigation uncovered that Heather and Mindy had been allegedly traveling to Las Vegas to purchase fentanyl to bring back to the Elko area for distribution.

The report also says that there were three kids living in one of the houses that was searched, in "extremely unsafe and unsuitable" conditions for children. The kids were taken into custody by the Department of Child and Family Service.

Richard Bliss was arrested due to the neglect found by officers.
