Our first significant storm of the season will impact the Sierra and northern Nevada with mountain snow and valley rain before moving out of the area.Â
The storm is also prompting chain controls on several mountain passes, including Mt. Rose Highway. You can find a full list of chain controls on NDOT's Nevada 511 website.
CHP Truckee reports a few spinouts on the summit, but says no one was seriously hurt. Chain controls have been lifted for I-80 over Donner Summit.Â
The storm pushes to the east Wednesday into Thursday... and we begin to dry out by Wednesday night.
More sunshine and milder temperatures by Friday and Saturday with highs climbing back into the upper-60s and low-70s.
